Cinema

I saw the 40 Year Old Virgin today and I was impressed. The movie was very well done. I was laughing almost the entire time and there was never a dull moment. The pacing was amazing and the jokes were appropriate and timed perfectly. One that that really impressed me was there there wasn't any overly sappy moment which is typical for comedies. There is usually that moment where some tragic thing happens or someone has some kind of epiphany and its wrapped up in a pretty package for us all to take home like some kind of moral party favor. None of that in this movie.

The reason why I am so surprised by all of the great qualities of this movie is because there has been so much crap coming to the theaters lately that it seemed mainstream movies were a hopeless case.

I'm sure this is just a fluke and in the coming months we'll see more bullshit movies by Jerry Bruckheimer, Michael Bay, and the emperors of utter bullshit Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. Maybe they'll all collaborate on a movie about how a rougue self aware android (played by Will Smith) and a poor black working class mom (played by Will Smith) learn to overcome their differences and realize its their faults that make them stronger. All this while in the background poor immigrant class mexicans are fighting to make their way in America.
