Pope or President?

Bush has declared the 16th of September a day of prayer for the victims of Katrina.

Is this his attempt at damage control? Is this his attempt to make it look like he actually cares about what has happened to the thousands of misplaced people?

What they need is assistance. What they needed and what we need now is a government that is prepared to mitigate or completely prevent these kinds of tragedies from happening in the future. What we all need is for FEMA to be a cabinet level agency again. The director of that agency needs to be qualified to head up that agency as well. We can all pray (or not pray) and ask whatever god, spirit, entity to give us the strength to move on by ourselves. What we need you to do Bush is to be the president.

Yes, well now that Mike Brown is banished back to his family in Washington to drink Margaritas, I feel safer, don't you?

Don't admit mistakes Bush! At any cost! Keep your political appointees at the head of the government fucking us all!
