Waking Gaia

I was reading Bobby's blog, The Zen of Me, and he had a little blurb about global warming after his post today in relation to hurricane Rita and the active hurricane seasons we've been having over the past years. Something occured to me, an irony that almost seems like natural justice in a way. The irony is that the industry that is most responsible for the effects of global warming, the petrochemical industry, is the one that is being pummeled by the natural disasters that are a result of its byproduct.

One could argue this is support for the Gaia theory. Think of the hurricanes as a kind of immune response, created for the purpose of purging an infection.
