Yeah, I am really tired of "science" (which usually isn't science) and the media trying to figure out “what makes us gay.” They never spend time trying to figure out what makes people straight.
Also, the Childhood Gender Disorder is almost always applied to boys and rarely put onto girls. This suggests more about our society's obsession with policing masculinity than anything to do with sexuality.
Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to go comb my Wonder Woman doll's pretty, pretty hair.
Agreed - Nice cast. I read that 60 Minutes piece and found myself rolling my eyes. But there was still part of me that wanted to send it along to my mother--just to affirm her newfound belief that my queerness has nothing to do with the fact that she is overbearing and my dad was absentee(ish). The Dallas arboretum is pretty great. Also, I know you went to the Fort Worth water gardens and were let down b/c they were closed. Might I recommend a trip to the Japanese Gardens in FW? Really lovely. About the Pride stuff, I'll confess, I've never been to one Pride celebration. I don't do too well around lots of people, so I've always celebrated "Shame" w/ my friends by holing up, renting movies and playing board games.
